High School Overview

Providence Hall High School’s mission is to provide an environment that encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly in an ever-changing global community. We believe these skills are best learned through inquiry-based teaching, character education, and participation in service-learning activities.

As a 3A member of the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA), students can participate in a variety of activities and athletic programs while in a small-school environment. Our dedicated advisors and coaches provide a supportive and positive atmosphere where students can practice leadership techniques and develop their talents.

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS

PHHS students will receive a world-class education. Our teachers are provided with frequent pedagogical support that improves their educational practices. Additionally, we create data driven goals that help us meet both the needs of the individual student and the student body as a whole. Due to these efforts, we continually exceed state graduation rates, and we meet or exceed state ACT averages annually.

Students who participate in one or more advanced academic courses are more likely to graduate college and develop the skills necessary to excel in the workplace. PHHS offers fifteen Advanced Placement (AP) and  twelve Concurrent Enrollment (CE) courses. Additionally, the PHHS Advanced Scholar Program gives students an opportunity to positively influence college acceptance and increase scholarship awards.

In addition to our advanced academic courses, we offer a myriad of elective classes. These courses provide students with the ability to grow their talents and discover their interests. Furthermore, we have eight (8) Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways that provide our students with work-related experiences in Health Science, Web Design, Cyber Security, Protective Services, Culinary Arts, Business Administration and Programming, and Software Development.

Our most important role is to provide a positive, responsive, and supportive environment where all learners can grow. At PHHS we have a support team that is focused on ensuring students with special needs can find success in and out of the classroom. This team includes a social worker, psychologist, English Language Learner (ELL) specialist, school counselor, and five dedicated Special Education teachers.

At PHHS we pride ourselves in having graduates who are open-minded, principled, and collaborative. Thirty-nine percent of our recent graduates earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, and sixty-one percent earned either an Advanced or Advanced Honors Diploma. Most notably the class of 2021 earned over 2.7 million dollars in scholarship money and have been accepted to more than 50 different colleges and universities including Stanford, Dartmouth, and Cornell.

REQUEST TO ENROLL YOUR STUDENT

Providence Hall enrolls students on a lottery-based system. Simply submit your child’s application into our pool and we run a lottery annually, then regularly after that, to determine which children will be added to our amazing list of attending students. Drawing names from a lottery ensures there are no biases or pre-qualifications for attendance. We strive to provide equal opportunity to all students and potential students. For information on submitting an application for your children to participate in the lottery, you can find instructions on our Lottery & Enrollment Information Page .
